The story of Acne Studios begins with a pair of jeans, and quality denim has always been at the very heart of the innovative fashion house.
With the entry of Blå Konst, Creative Director, Jonny Johansson, has completely revised the entire denim collection. The classics we know are disappearing from the store shelves, as the first designs of the new denim line hits stores this spring.
The foundation of the denim collections has been rethought – or to put it in Acne Studios’ own words, it has been “reborn, refreshed and re-imagined”. In the new collections, the permanent offerings basically centre around six styles of jeans; one baggy, one straight and one skinny for men and the same three for women.
The inspiration for the first Blå Konst collection has been drawn from the Swedish outdoors and the functionality of the artist’s uniform. Jonny Johansson states that “I see the wearer as an artist, as she patiently crafts her own garment into something distinct” – a philosophy we are respectfully applauding.
The idea behind the new denim line is that it will be “like a study, always evolving and moving forward”. We are very excited to present Blå Konst in STØY – in-store as well as online – and follow the development of the new adventurous denim-line.
