COPENHAGEN'S FASHION PEAK
August 4th, 2026
I arrived in Copenhagen on Tuesday evening, the day before our event. Dinner was planned with Sofie Liv and Emilie to go through the final details, delegate tasks and, hopefully, make sure we knew what we were doing the next day. And my task was quickly found: ice duty.
August 5th, 2026
Straight to bed, then up for a run the next morning. It was absolutely pouring with rain all morning, which naturally meant that by the time I finished running, Copenhagen had transformed into a 28-degree, sunny inferno. I met up with Sofie and Emilie and from there it was go. Back and forth picking up ice, filling coolers, loading beers, unloading beers, and doing it all over again. By the time I was done, I'd completely sweat through the outfit I'd planned to wear. And maybe worse still: I'd actually spent time doing my hair for the first time in my life, and it lasted approximately 45 minutes. Next job: steaming the tablecloths, so Alexandra, who was handling all the food and drinks, could get started with the setup. The theme was green. A very specific green. Stan Smith green, to be clear. Obviously, it's pretty difficult to get drinks, peas, watermelons and cucumbers to be exactly Stan Smith green, but it's the thought that counts !
The clock was ticking closer to the start, and perhaps the most important job of the day was still waiting for me: getting back to the apartment to change my shirt, redo my stupid hairstyle and, very importantly, charge my phone. I changed my shirt, lay down for what I thought would be five minutes, and fell asleep for 30. I quickly realised I'd forgotten my charger, and at that point, the hair was definitely not happening again. Back on the Lime bike - back to the store just before 5pm. Then spend 10 minutes getting ready to talk. And just like last year, our local Aarhus friends and jazz band De4Maver were playing again. They are real OG's, and there aren't many things cooler than being passionate about something. And they are. Also, hopefully some of you who were there noticed how good they looked in their worn-in Stan Smiths.
I think most of us were very pleasantly surprised to see that many people showed up. Yes, last year there were a lot of people, but that was a store opening, and this was more so a celebration of a great first year, and a thank you to Copenhagen for all of the support. It's always good seeing friends you don't get to see too often, partners, and funny podcasters who can't pronounce your name. Other than talking, the rest of the time was spent serving and collecting empty beer and wine bottles.
Last stage; cleaning up. After a very successful 2ish hours, sold out of drinks, food, and almost beers and wine. De4Maver had to stop playing - they had a job across Denmark the next day, so very naturally people got the memo that it was over, and there were no more free drinks to grab. We spent an hour or two cleaning, and found ourselves a very late dinner. Just as expected, with no reservation, during fashion week.
Obviously I'm biased, but this was Copenhagen's fashion peak !
THANK YOU COPENHAGEN, FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT
